Guy Sebastian and Lee Kernaghan head to Isa Rodeo Rock
The Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is celebrating its return to the arena in August with a spectacular combination of Australian entertainment legends, Guy Sebastian and Outback favourite Lee Kernaghan.
Singer, songwriter and producer, Guy Sebastian is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most popular and successful male artists. He is the only Australian male artist to have ever achieved six number one singles and two number one albums in chart history. He has been awarded 42 platinum awards, won seven ARIA Awards and has performed for Oprah Winfrey, The Queen, and the Pope.
Guy Sebastian leads a fantastic lineup of Aussie artists Lee Kernaghan, Casey Barnes and Mick Lindsay heading to north west Queensland for the largest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere from August 12 to 15.
Guy will kick off the Rodeo Rock concerts on Friday night (August 13) and said he was really looking forward to performing for the first time at the famous Isa Rodeo, supported by country rock artist Casey Barnes.
“I can’t wait to join you in August in the red dirt of the Queensland Outback for this year’s Mount Isa Mines Rodeo,” Guy said. “Grab your mates and grab your tickets and let’s party together on Friday 13th!”
The Saturday night concert (August 14) will feature 37 time Golden Guitar winner country rock legend Lee Kernaghan, who is looking forward to performing classics like `The Outback Club’, `Boys From The Bush’, `Hat Town’, `She’s My Ute’ and `Australian Boy’, plus songs from his 15th studio album, `Backroad Nation’.
“The Isa Rodeo is one of my favourite events to play at,” Lee said. “It was great to be a part of last year’s world first virtual rodeo but it won’t top being back live at the arena this year!”
Lee Kernaghan will be supported by rodeo favourite Mick Lindsay. Gold Coast-based Casey Barnes is making a massive impact on the Australian country music scene with chart topping success and multiple Toyota Golden Guitar Award nominations.
All rodeo tickets, accommodation, packages go on sale on TOMORROW (Wednesday, May 12 at 9.00am).
Isa Rodeo Chief Executive Officer Natalie Flecker said live music was an important part of the Isa Rodeo and this year’s line-up was a celebration of Australian music.
“The Isa Rodeo celebrates music, outback culture and the coming together of communities,” she said. “We can’t wait to be back live in the arena and to welcome visitors, some attending for the first time and many who return year after year. It feels like it’s going to be a huge year as so many people are keen to experience this incredible event.”
The Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and promoted as part of the It’s Live! In Queensland event calendar, worth $800 million to the state’s economy.
