A free shuttle bus service will operate between Mount Isa Mines Rodeo’s HQ– Buchanan Park – and drop off points around the city during next month’s rodeo.
Mount Isa Mines Rodeo Chief Executive Officer Ms Natalie Flecker said the shuttle, which would be operated by Mount Isa Coaches, would provide another transport option during Mount Isa’s busiest weekend.
“There are also taxis and self-driving as we have a large parking area at Buchanan Park,” said Ms Flecker. “The shuttle will operate from early morning before rodeo starts for the day until after the nightly concerts from Friday to Sunday.”
Ms Flecker said the shuttle would transport patrons to and from Buchanan Park to a number of hotels, schools, caravan parks, major city building such as the Civic Centre and other key locations. It would run regularly but not continuously during the three days.
From Friday to Sunday, August 9 to 11, the shuttle service will run between Buchanan Park, TAFE (Able Smith Parade), Spinifex Motel, Outback at Isa, Cnr 5th and 4th Avenue, Irish Club (Buckly Street), Healy State School, Ergon, Leichhardt Accommodation, Buffs Club (Simpson Street), Moondarra Caravan Park, Abacus Hotel, Civic Centre (in car park), Discovery Caravan Park and the Corner of Carbine and Sunset Drive.
These locations may vary slightly, but details of the full circuit will be available on the www.isarodeo.com.au website closer to the event, which runs August 8-11, 2019.
