An internationally-renowned duo performing an eye-popping routine of quick costume changes is the star entertainment at this year’s Bell & Moir Rodeo Ball.
Soul Mystique, formed by international dance quick change artistes Gavin Skinner and Lydia Lim will appear for the first time ever in Mount Isa at the gala event being held in a glamorous marquee at Buchanan Park on Saturday, August 2.
Mount Isa Mines Rotary Rodeo Manager Ms Natalie Flecker said Soul Mystique was most renowned on Australian TV for performing world record quick change concepts which brought them fame on seasons one and six of reality TV show ‘Australia’s Got Talent’.
Ms Flecker said Soul Mystique would be one of the evening’s highlights, which would also see the Rodeo Queen and Charity Queen crowned.
“We are really upping the ante with our entertainment this year by featuring a magical act like Soul Mystique plus live entertainment by Kelly Llewellyn and the Red Handed Band,” she said. “It’s going to be a fabulous night, so don’t leave it too long to buy your tickets.”
Soul Mystique is billed as the world’s only act performing the two art forms of professional dance-sport with magical costume transformations.
Their stunning performances have captivated and flabbergasted audiences all over the globe, in more than 60 countries, from television, live theatre to high profile corporate events. They have performed in famous theatres such as The London Palladium to Las Vegas, starring alongside to the likes of John Cleese, Katy Perry, Siegfried & Roy, Human Nature, Jimmy Barnes, Bananarama, The Pretenders and Maroon 5.
The duo has made international headlines as the most innovative and outstanding quick change act in the world, and regularly performs in Hong Kong, Shanghai and around Australia. They were also named finalists in the ‘Australian Entertainer of the Year’ category at the prestigious Australian Event Awards in 2011 and 2012. On the world stage, Soul Mystique has been listed in ’The World’s Top 10 Best Magic Acts’ by Fox Bio Channel.

Tickets are $160 per person, including a performance by Kelly Llewellyn and the Red Handed Band, a delicious three-course meal catered by Red Earth and four hours of premium beverages, including beer, red and white wine and soft drinks. The Queen Quest entrants will be selling tickets at the Rodeo Merchandise Shop this Saturday from 10am – 1pm.
Ms Flecker said the evening would also feature a charity auction with proceeds benefitting Buy A Bale. Guests will have the chance to bid for some wonderful prizes, all generously donated.
