The Isa Street Festival and Street Parade is presented by the Mount Isa City Council ahead of the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo to welcome visitors to the city and staged “downtown” in the CBD. The celebration includes a street parade, live open-air concert, family entertainment, kids activities and street stalls (just to name a few).
The highlight will be a concert by Rai Thistlethwayte of Thirsty Merc fame and his band performing his signature mix of classic rock, pop and jazz.
The festival also features local performers, food and market stalls, kids games and activities and a licensed beer garden.
Meet Football legend Johnathan Thurston at the Community Connect Zone which will also have free family rides and entertainment.
The festival kicks off with a street parade, this year’s celebrating the 25th anniversary of the discovery of the Riversleigh Fossil Fields with the theme “Living Fossils”.
The Mount Isa Mines Rodeo is the largest annual rodeo event in the Southern Hemisphere. This not-for-profit event is a packed program of rodeo events and non-stop entertainment. Legendary, since 1959!
