Isa Rodeo Queen Quest
With a crown on offer and a title to claim, Isa Rodeo Queen Quest hopefuls have been hard at work fundraising with the help of the Mount Isa community as they prepare for the 2010 Rodeo Ball and the Queen Crowning.
Raising funds for local charities, sports and cultural associations, the quest also promotes women in rodeo. The entrants are ambassadors for the Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo.
There are two titles up for grabs - Isa Rodeo Queen and Isa Rodeo Charity Queen. To be eligible for Isa Rodeo Queen, entrants are judged on:
- Community involvement and spirit,
- Personality,
- Knowledge and understanding of their nominated charity,
- Current affairs,
- General knowledge of Mount Isa,
- Knowledge and understanding of Rotary,
- Knowledge and understanding of the Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo,
- Queen Quest Portfolio, and
- Compliance with conditions of entry.
The title of Isa Rodeo Charity Queen is awarded to the highest fundraiser. In 2009, Candice Harding raised a record $52,224.000 for the Royal Flying Doctors Service - the most money raised by an Isa Rodeo Queen Quest entrant.
