Distance is no barrier for Mount Isa. Whether you’re travelling interstate or from overseas, there are a multitude transport options to get you here.

Travel from within Australia

Qantas flies direct to Mount Isa from Brisbane and Townsville. Skytrans and Regional Pacific fly several times a week from Cairns to Mount Isa.

Queensland Rail provides a passenger service from Brisbane to Townsville and then a connection from Townsville to Mount Isa.

Greyhound and Coral Coaches provide coach services daily from Brisbane, Darwin and Townsville with connections to Alice Springs and Adelaide.

By road, all major highways to the City are sealed. Aircraft and helicopter charter services are also available.

Travel from outside Australia

Getting to Mount Isa is easy from abroad with two international airports in Queensland with domestic connections to Mount Isa.

Brisbane International Airport services 26 international destinations each week with connections to Mount Isa. The Cairns International Airport also provides connections to Mount Isa.

Travel within Mount Isa

Public transport in Mount Isa is limited to taxis only. However, there are a number of car hire companies that service the region.

Mount Isa Airport is located 8 kilometres from Buchanan Park and taxis can be called on arrival.

Those travelling on bus or coach will arrive at the bus terminal located at Outback at Isa which is less than 1 kilometre from Buchanan Park.
